Therapeutic Touch

eGuide > Therapeutic Touch

Therapeutic Touch (TT) is a well-established form of energetic therapy, practiced by professional nurses since the early seventies, and is widely researched in healthcare institutions, including the National Institutes of Health. Therapeutic Touch – developed by Dolores Kreiger, PhD, RN – is now taught in more than 80 countries and 100 universities worldwide.

Therapeutic Touch is derived from the ancient practice of laying-on of hands. It provides balancing and healing from a holistic approach: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual. Therapeutic Touch has been successfully used to treat:

  • Premenstrual syndrome (PMS)
  • Asthma
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Headaches
  • Infections
  • Athletic injuries
  • Nausea and vomiting
  • Recovery from surgery
  • Side effects from chemotherapy and radiation cancer treatment
